Once we start attracting followers they could be set to task guarding the surrounding land. In this way we can continue to the point of a castle or stop at a keep and accentuate each in it’s own way. Perhaps 3 or 4 choices with other types of choices to be purchased in the DDO store. Basic upgrades like palisades and towers and keeps, each with a distinctive look. The interior would be reflective, but each an identical floor plan as to not over tax our programmers.įrom here we can spend our hard earned platinum on upgrades. On the other hand, an elven mage might look like a grotto with a simple crystal spire. An orc fighter might look like a mud hut with wooden spikes surrounding it for protection. You could have each reflective of the race and class of the owning player. Upon it is a little cottage that you call your own. This could exist totally on the player’s computer that somehow they are granted some land to build upon. It is not necessary to have massive battles, PvP, and conquest of your fellow players, but rather a sort of side game that breaks the tempo and gives the kind of fun I’ve had for the anniversary. Now this has probably come up before and go ahead and bash it, but some thought as to castles and keeps should be at least raised once and a while. One of the reasons many of us have played D&D is that we wanted to be masters of our own lands. With the fun I've had during the 5th Anniversary (Thank you buy the way), the kobolds gave me an idea.
